What we say
A-listers love this gayest straight bar/restaurant
Norm's, in the heart of Portland's arts district, is akin to an upscale Hamburger Mary's, and nearly as gay. It's where Portlanders take a first date, celebrate birthdays, or simply stop in for "a" drink after work only to be pushed out the door five hours later. Drinks are generous, and the food is just plain good. Feeling fat? Try the lamb salad. Devil may care? Go for the fish and chips.

Norms is the heart and soul of alternative Portland. It feeds the most diverse of Portland's community in the most welcoming atmosphere imaginable, all while keeping prices reasonable and the drinks powerful. It does not matter if you are a local or visitor, gay, straight or undecided for the evening, Norms is an absolute must, as important to understanding the true character of Portland as a visit to the Old Port.
